Description/Details of Role: Looking for a new PA to start in January 2024.
To understand a child with Autism and ADHD
To deal with and manage Anxiety
To be committed to Oscar and the hours required
To be flexible when needed
Outgoing and understanding
Oscar is an active little boy who has lots of energy to burn off
He is incontinent, meaning you will need to know how to change him
You also need to know how to deal with Oscar when he’s in a busy environment or when he has a meltdown.
He likes to know where he is going or what he will be doing.
He is very shy at first, but once settled and relaxed, he will come out of his bubble and be more himself.
Oscar loves going to the park, play centres and for beach walks.
He is a very happy little boy who will give anything a go, but he needs lots of reassurance when going to new places.
Key main tasks:
Knowing and understanding ADHD
Makaton to help with communication, due to Oscar being non-verbal
Knowing and understanding ASD
Knowing and understanding Anxiety
How to deal with a meltdown
Changing pads and cleaning Oscar when required
To be on the ball with Oscar as he has Global Awareness delay, meaning he has no sense of danger when crossing roads etc.
Hours Available:
4 hours term time
8 hours non term time
It would be ideal for the term time hours to be on a weekend due to Oscar being at school during the week, but I can be flexible with this.
An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS will be required, which I will arrange if an up to date clearance is needed.
