ISG, a global construction specialist, took on the challenge of transforming We Are Beams’ drab and dreary building into a fresh bright new child friendly space that reflects the charity’s branding.
Over 30 members of staff from different company sites, including CEO Matt Blowers, got into their overalls and not only volunteered their time but also donated all the materials.
Local companies also leant a hand with MSK completing all the removals and cleaning the exterior, ADS painters and decorators providing their decorating skills and Speedy providing equipment to assist the project!
This was not an easy job with many areas needing prepping and sanding, but the teams took it all in their stride.
Having volunteered last year for Beams, ISG could see the vital services the charity provides to disabled children and wanted to offer this complete transformation as a thank you.
The newly decorated rooms, including offices, play areas, and the respite centre, have been transformed into a vibrant and inviting space, more suited to a children’s charity.
With stage one of the makeover complete the next stage is to decorate and carpet the upstairs rooms.
Luke Cashin, Fundraising Manager at Beams is so grateful for the support,
“A big thank you to everyone at ISG for coming in and decorating our respite centre. You have made a world of difference. This huge gesture means we can concentrate on supporting disabled children and their families.“
Matt Blowers, CEO at ISG added
“The team had a great and fulfilling day decorating the facilities for We Are Beams. Working alongside organisations that do so much good for individuals, communities and wider society is a pleasure and privilege and helping a charity that provides such a vital service for disabled children and their families represents a day very well spent.”
