Are you looking for a flexible and exciting volunteer opportunity in your local area?

We have some great opportunities to engage you in our work whether it’s a few hours a week or just a couple of days in the year.

• Events – Come along and provide support at our events and its fun and great experience for anyone looking to work in this field.

• Garden- We are always seeking keen gardeners to help with the upkeep of our beautiful interactive garden and make the area safe for our children.

• Office support – We would love office support to help with the mountain of paperwork, and typing.

• Social Media – Support our fundraising efforts by helping our marketing team.

    Parent Trustees

    Bring your experience as a parent or carer to the Board

    We Are Beams is looking for Parent Trustees who can bring their personal experience of disability, family life and our services to help shape the future of the charity.

    As a parent or carer who has experienced We Are Beams first-hand, you understand the challenges families can face and the difference our services can make. Your experience, ideas and perspective can provide valuable insight at Board level and help ensure the needs of the families we support remain at the heart of our decisions.

    We’re looking for parents and carers who have a passion for what We Are Beams does, understand the experiences of families living with disability and would like to play a more active role in helping the charity grow and develop.

    You don’t need previous Trustee experience or a professional background in a particular field. We’re interested in people who can bring their own perspective, ask questions, share ideas and use their experience to help us make a difference to more families. Full support and guidance will be provided.

    Becoming a Parent or Carer Trustee is an opportunity to use your voice and experience to help influence the direction of a charity that you already know and understand.

    Professional & Corporate Trustees

    Use your professional expertise to make a difference

    We Are Beams is also looking for experienced professionals to join our Board of Trustees and bring their knowledge, skills and expertise to support the future development of the charity.

    As We Are Beams continues to grow, we are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in:

    HR & Employment – employment practice, people management and organisational development.

    Legal & Governance – governance, legal responsibilities and organisational compliance.

    Finance – financial oversight, sustainability, planning and good financial governance.

    Strategy – strategic planning, organisational development and supporting long-term growth.

    You don’t need previous Trustee experience. We’re looking for people who can bring professional expertise, sound judgement, a willingness to contribute and a genuine commitment to supporting children and families living with disabilities across Kent and Medway.

    As a Trustee, you’ll have the opportunity to use the skills and experience you’ve developed throughout your career to contribute at Board level, help shape our strategic direction and support the continued development of We Are Beams.

    This is an opportunity to use your professional expertise to create meaningful and lasting impact for children and families.
