Personal Assistant role for a 13 year old boy with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) and other associated medical and developmental issues:
– Severe learning disability
– Severe language disorder
– Double incontinent
– Autoimmune hypothyroidism
– Recurrent knee dislocations and low muscle tone (hypotonia)
We will ask you to
– To assist our child to access social activities in the community whilst also increasing their independence
– To provide support and assistance to enable my child to achieve their full potential (which may include some personal care)
My child’s interest are:
– POP Music, musical toys, books, some TV shows (Peppa Pig, Blippy)
– You will be supporting my child after school on weekdays (total 6h per week)
Key main tasks:
· Collecting our child from school on weekdays (Full driving licence and access to a car)
· All aspects of personal care incl. dinner supervision, toileting, changing clothes etc.
· Engaging in outdoors and indoor activities, such as playground, swimming, listening to music, playing with educational toys, reading books
Hourly rate of pay: £11.44 from the 1st April 2024.
Hours available: 6h per week in the afternoons – max 3 weekdays (flexible)
An enhanced DBS for working with children will be required, which I will arrange if an up to date clearance is needed.
