Looking for a reliable person to provide support and assistance to our son, who is a happy 19 years old with Kabuki Syndrome and PMLD. He is non-verbal, able to weight bear, transition independently and walk around indoors but requires a wheelchair when out and about. He loves watching movies and playing with anything that makes music.
Help required during school holidays, to take him out to the park, cinema, swimming, zoo etc during the school holidays (flexible hours to suit, ideally 1-2 days per week during the day). Possibility of overnights.
Applicant needs to be honest, easy going, adaptable, with a good sense of humour and a positive attitude.
Help with feeding and drinking. He is gastrostomy fed for liquids (training can be given if not trained) and can eat pureed/mashed up food (loves bananas!).
Attend to all personal cares, including toileting (dry during day and night if put on the toilet at regular intervals), may occasionally require changing pads.
Administer medication if required.
Clean driving licence required, access to mobility car available.
Rate of Pay: £15 per hour, plus holiday pay accrued pro rata
