Our History
Beams was established as a charity in 1996 by a group of parents. They believed that they could deliver better support for their disabled child by working together, rather than the help they were currently getting through the local authority. They became directly accountable to the parents, carers and young people who accessed their services.
Since then the charity has grown significantly and we now offer five key services to at least 450 parents and children at any one time.
We have big ambitions to continue to grow our services to ensure that we can continue to support all disabled children and young people.
