On Saturday 6th May, His Majesty King Charles III was crowned alongside The Queen Consort at Westminster Abbey.

In celebration, we held an Afternoon Tea event on Tuesday 2nd May at Wilmington Community Church.

It was a real celebration with great conversation, delicious food, dancing and entertainment from singer, Jason Allen.

Trustees David Mote and Sue Crocker joined the event. David was our Toastmaster, a great Quiz host and also led the 65 guests in singing the National Anthem; Sue kindly volunteered to help run the event and worked tirelessly all afternoon.

Master Baker Jane Lindsey excelled again with the catering and also donated a “Guess the Weight” Coronation Cake which the lucky winner was delighted with. The event raised over £2,000.

Local businesses came together to support the day. Thank you to N-Able UK who kindly sponsored the event and to the Horse and Groom Pub who supplied Prosecco for the toast and to Betsballoons and Blooms for the decorations.
