We Are Beams scooped a double win with Dartford Living Customer’s Choice Award and Covid Heroes Award at this year’s Dartford Business Awards.
These annual awards are dedicated to recognising, rewarding and celebrating their achievements in the local business community.
We are delighted to have won the Customer’s Choice Award, which was decided by the local community. The award criteria included; going above and beyond to provide an excellent service and innovating in their sector in terms of service offering or approach.
The new COVID Heroes award went to the charity’s Short Breaks Manager. Tracey Riley and her team.
Tracey has worked for Beams for over 25 years and worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to provide PPE to over 500 families in Kent.
The Short Breaks team also ensured that that they carried on supporting the disabled children and their families developing activity boxes at Easter and Christmas which were hand delivered to the young people who could not take part in the normal holiday play schemes. These boxes gave many families who had spent many months self-isolating something to look forward to and a much-needed lifeline.
Katrina Adams, Head of Charity is so proud of the entire team at Beams
“We were totally humbled to receive two awards. It is a great testament to the managers and staff that despite everything that was going on, we have been able to continue our work and be there for so many families, we are now pleased to be back with all our services and look forward to an exciting future”.
