We are bursting with pride as we announce that two of our incredible team members, Ellie Doodney and Lucia Zammit, as winners of the Young Person’s Award at the Dartford Business Awards ceremony last night.
The Young Person’s Award celebrates the brightest young talent in the borough, and for Beams to have two members of our team receive this award is a powerful testament to their dedication, growth, and the passion they bring to our mission every single day, supporting disabled children and families.
Ellie who is part of the dedicated team at our overnight respite unit, Dragon’s Retreat recently celebrated a significant academic achievement; her NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People and Families Practitioner. Ellie’s approach with the young people is wonderfully natural, building trusting relationships. She has recently taken the lead enhancing our communication in print displays, making sure they are easy to use for young people who are non-verbal, making sure their voices are always heard.
Lucia works within our Short Breaks Service, having joined us as a school leaver to pursue her Administration and Business NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship. Lucia provides essential admin support for the holiday clubs that are vital to so many of our families. Since joining, she has shown an incredible work ethic, is highly reliable, and has seen her confidence soar, becoming an integral team member.
We are deeply committed to providing opportunities for our team to grow, and seeing both Ellie and Lucia recognised at this level is a huge moment of pride for every one of us here at We Are Beams.
Congratulations to both of them, and to all the deserving recipients.
