Mayor of Dartford Chooses We Are Beams as Charity Partner in 30th Anniversary Year

The Mayor of Dartford, Cllr Avtar Sandhu MBE, has selected We Are Beams as one of his Mayor’s Charities for the coming year following his recent appointment to the role.

Having served as Deputy Mayor over the past year, Cllr Sandhu was elected Mayor at the Annual Council Meeting on 6th May.

A respected local businessman, the new Mayor is passionate about supporting residents and promoting Dartford’s thriving business community. He currently serves as the Council’s Lead Member for Business and is an active member of several council committees.

As part of We Are Beams 30th anniversary celebrations, the Mayor will take part in a series of fundraising events throughout the year, starting with a thrilling Wing Walk challenge in September.

Cllr Avtar Sandhu MBE said:

“I am delighted to have We Are Beams as one of my chosen charities this year. I have supported Beams for many years and have seen first-hand the incredible work they do supporting disabled children and their families across Dartford and the wider community. Their dedication, compassion and impact on hundreds of local families is truly inspiring, and I am proud to support them during their special 30th year.”

The partnership will help highlight the impact of We Are Beams work across the local community, while raising vital funds to support disabled children, young people and their families.
