Become a Friend of Beams

Caring for a disabled child 24/7 will be one of the most challenging things a family can face.

‘Beams has become our life-line, a unique charity supporting the whole family’ Beams Parent, 2020

Together, we can support more disabled children and their families across Kent and Medway.

We support the most vulnerable children in our community by offering a menu of services that directly benefit the child or young person and assist those dealing with the challenges of raising a disabled child.

We need to have regular donations so that we can plan for the future and develop our services to disabled children in the local area.

We can do this if we have just a small donation of at least £5 per month from “Friends” that care about our children.

In return our Friends receive:

  • A welcome letter including ‘I’m a Friend of Beams’ pen
  • A quarterly copy of our charity’s newsletter highlighting our recent activities and projects supporting disabled children and their families
  • Invitation to our annual Friends virtual coffee morning
  • Discounted ticket prices (*selected Beams events*)
  • A yearly update from the Head of Charity

For as little as £5 a month, you can make a big difference to the services and support our charity is able to offer.

£5 provides a nutritional meal for a child that is staying with us

£10 provides an initial phone call between a parent in crisis and a Beams Family Advisor

Our work is divided up into four key areas. These are Short Breaks Services, Family Advice Service, Direct Payment Service, and Dragon’s Retreat 6 bedded Respite Unit.

Your monthly donation will help us to transform the lives of disabled children and young people, enabling them to have greater independence and control of their lives and futures as well as supporting the entire family. Click HERE to find out more about how we support families.
